A friend at 50F needed some peel ply and micro so I pulled the unfinished wheel pants off, put the cowls on and flew some down to him. It was a short, fun flight and much more enjoyable than driving through a bunch of traffic lights and metro traffic. I skirted the Class D airspace and stayed under Class B. It was a pleasure to visit Bill James and enjoy looking at his numerous innovative solutions. This flight was a full circle experience for me since Bill's Variez was one of the first canards I got to sit in about 8 years ago.
This is my supplemental builders blog for a Cozy Mark IV which is a 4-seat, single engine, homebuilt light aircraft designed by Nat Puffer, with parts and plans supplied by Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co. The aircraft is built from plans using basic raw materials. It is not a kit aircraft, though many small parts are available prefabricated. The Cozy is similar in design and construction to the 2-seat Rutan Long-EZ, from which it is derived, with approval from Burt Rutan.
